This is the skill you start out with. Before you can change job, ie: Become a Magician, or a Swordman or whatever you hope to be, you must have it at level 9.

Be ye forewarned, "Job Level" is not the same as "Base Level". Yeah, it's pretty obvious, but you wouldn't believe the number of people who asked me about it. =P

Another thing to take note of is that you only get 1 skill point per JOB LEVEL UP. Don't worry too much about it because it'll all make sense one you start to fool around with it. ^_^     ( Ctrl + S )

Level 1 allows you to Deal with another player. Who knows? A looter just might try to return that jellyopy you worked so hard for. UPDATE: You can still "Deal" with another player even if you don't have Skill Level 1.

Level 2  earns you the right to display Emotion Icons. ( ALT + 1 )

Level 3 is hard to get to, but once achieved, you can finaly sit down and take a load off. (Press the "Insert" Key or type  /sit )

Level 4  comes with less pain. Now while you are healing , or whenever you feel like it, you can join Chat Pubs.

Level 5  is pretty nice. Now you can join a "Party". FYI the maximun amount of people who can be in the same party is still eight.

Level 6  was no big whoop for me. It allows you to use a Depository if you have about 30 zeny to throw away on it.
Cool Tip: You only have to get the first character on an account to job level 6 as a novice to be able to use the Kapra storage, any characters you make on the same account afterwards only need the required zeny to use it. Cool Tip Submitted By: Talien

Level 7  puts you in controll! You now have the ability to Create a Party of your own. To do so, first type   /leave   if you are in a party.
Then type /organize partyname but instead of actually typing "Party Name" put whatever you want the name of your party to be.  You can use spaces in party name if you put the name in "quotes", and doesn't have to be lowercase
.

Level 8  shouldn't scare you. Techinally, you can start Player Killing, but that little ability is not working as of yet.

Level 9,  the final level! The time has come for you to pick a Job / Class. ^_^
